Evidence-Based Treatment for Trauma and PTSD
Find Freedom from Trauma-Related Symptoms

We offer three distinct varieties of evidence-based, best-practice treatment for trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
* TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment designed to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers heal from the effects of trauma. It is commonly used for experiences such as abuse, neglect, violence, accidents, or other overwhelming events.
* TF-CBT helps young people process traumatic memories in a safe, structured way while building practical skills for managing emotions, reducing anxiety, and strengthening self-confidence. Caregivers are actively involved in treatment, learning how to support their child and foster healing at home.
* Research shows TF-CBT can significantly reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and behavioral difficulties—helping children and families move forward with greater resilience and stability.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
* Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD that helps people understand and change how trauma has affected their thoughts, beliefs, and sense of self. After trauma, it’s common to develop painful conclusions such as “It was my fault,” “I’m not safe,” or “I can’t trust anyone.” CPT works directly with these beliefs.
* Through structured conversations and targeted exercises, CPT helps clients examine unhelpful thinking patterns, gain a more balanced perspective, and reduce feelings of guilt, shame, fear, and anger. As these beliefs shift, trauma symptoms often lessen, and people feel more grounded, empowered, and able to move forward.
* CPT is well-researched and has been shown to be highly effective in reducing PTSD, depression, and anxiety related to trauma.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
* PE is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD that helps people gradually face trauma-related memories, feelings, and situations they’ve been avoiding. Avoidance can bring short-term relief, but over time it often keeps trauma symptoms stuck.
* In PE, clients work at a steady, supportive pace to revisit traumatic memories and safely re-engage with avoided situations, helping the brain learn that these experiences are no longer dangerous. Over time, distress decreases, confidence increases, and trauma memories become less overwhelming.
* Prolonged Exposure Therapy is strongly supported by research and has been shown to significantly reduce PTSD symptoms and improve overall quality of life.
