Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety

Generalized Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Panic Attacks, Social Anxiety, and More

Young woman looking anxious and alone

CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are evidence-based approaches that help reduce anxiety by changing unhelpful thinking patterns and breaking cycles of avoidance. Together, these treatments teach clients how to respond differently to anxious thoughts and gradually face feared situations in manageable, supportive ways.

Treatment may include emotional education, relaxation and mindfulness strategies, cognitive restructuring, imaginal and in-vivo exposure, modeling and reinforcement, and—when working with youth—behavioral parent training.

Our approach is:

* Time-limited and goal-focused.

* Available in individual and family-based formats.

* Designed to help clients identify anxiety triggers and manage physical symptoms through relaxation and mindfulness skills.

* Focused on building practical coping tools to recognize anxious thoughts, challenge assumptions, and develop more balanced responses.

* Active and collaborative—therapists provide coaching and encouragement as clients gradually approach situations that have felt overwhelming or limiting.

* Family-inclusive when working with children and adolescents, helping parents understand patterns that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety and equipping them with tools to support their child’s independence and resilience.
